Developed in collaboration with Nokia, the initiative leverages a cloud-native network to bypass the limitations of software-based filters. Parents can activate one of three protection levels with a single tap, effectively managing a child's exposure to social media and web content before it reaches their device. Gurtaj Singh Padda, CEO of Tune Talk, stated that the company intends for this model to serve as a blueprint for global telecommunications providers struggling to bridge the gap between government safety policies and practical enforcement.
Tune Talk Debuts Network-Level Child Safety Plan in Malaysia
Moving parental control from individual apps to the connectivity layer, Malaysian mobile operator Tune Talk has launched Epik+ Family Safe. The new service allows parents to restrict access across 56 content categories directly through the network, marking a shift toward infrastructure-based digital protection for children.

Beyond technical filtering, the prepaid plan includes 700GB of high-speed data and personal accident insurance coverage of up to USD 125,000 for a one-parent, one-child household. While currently exclusive to the Malaysian market, the launch positions the company as a testing ground for how infrastructure providers can integrate safety into the backbone of digital access. By addressing the content at the point of connectivity, Tune Talk aims to simplify child online safety for families while challenging the industry to rethink its role in the broader digital ecosystem.
