Daystar Power Scales Nestlé Solar Infrastructure to 6.8 Megawatts

This expansion marks a deepening partnership between the regional food giant and energy provider Daystar Power, signaling a shift toward localized, resilient power grids for industrial production in West Africa.

The project encompasses sites in Abidjan, Tema, and Dakar, each engineered to match the specific grid demands of the local facility. Daystar Power’s footprint in the region now totals 6,884 kWp, with the largest share located in Abidjan, where two sites account for 3,447 kWp of solar energy. The Tema factory in Ghana contributes 2,547 kWp, while the Dakar operation rounds out the network with 890 kWp.

Yischai Beinisch, CEO of Daystar Power Group, pointed to the partnership’s evolution from a single pilot installation to a multi-country infrastructure project as a validation of their business model. For Nestlé, the transition serves as a core component of its net-zero commitments. Samer Chedid, CEO of Nestlé Central and West Africa, stated that the projects are designed to embed sustainability into the company’s growth while creating long-term value for local communities through improved energy reliability.
