The certification process, which resulted in zero nonconformances, provides a standardized benchmark for how TraceLink manages AI oversight, risk, and accountability. As pharmaceutical and healthcare companies shift from experimental AI use to integrated agentic workflows, this audit offers a layer of assurance that digital teammates—known as OPUS Agents—operate within strict business, operational, and compliance guardrails.
TraceLink Secures ISO/IEC 42001 Certification for AI Governance
TraceLink has achieved ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification, marking a significant milestone for its AI management systems. The Boston-based company, which operates a vast business network for life sciences, successfully cleared an independent assessment by A-LIGN to validate its governance framework for artificial intelligence and autonomous business agents.

Shabbir Dahod, President and CEO of TraceLink, noted that the move is essential for organizations transitioning to an Agentic Supply Chain Operating Model. By embedding these controls into the OPUS Platform, the company aims to ensure that human teams retain decision-making authority while agents handle specialized tasks across the supply network. The ISO standard requires rigorous documentation of roles, transparency, and continuous monitoring, effectively setting the stage for safer innovation in highly regulated sectors where patient safety and data integrity remain paramount.
