The newly elected cohort, representing both high school and postsecondary divisions, emerged from a competitive selection process at the National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta. They will now serve as the public face for over 444,000 members, working directly with corporate partners and federal policymakers to reshape perceptions of trade careers. Their mandate involves advocating for increased investment in technical training to support essential sectors such as healthcare, clean energy, and cybersecurity.

Executive Director Chelle Travis noted that these students possess a rare combination of technical competency and leadership acumen, effectively utilizing the SkillsUSA Framework to prepare for the modern workforce. The team includes representatives from 15 states, ranging from California to New Jersey. Beyond their divisional duties, these officers will collaborate on the Joint Executive Council to align workforce initiatives for students transitioning from secondary to postsecondary programs. Their work aims to dismantle lingering stigmas surrounding non-traditional education paths, proving that technical proficiency is as vital to the American economy as a standard four-year degree.
