Epson to Debut Collaborative Robot at Automate 2026

Epson Robots will showcase its latest automation portfolio at the Automate 2026 trade show in Chicago, featuring a preview of its first collaborative robot. Running from June 22–25, the exhibit highlights the company's push to balance high-speed industrial performance with safer, human-centric interaction in factory environments.

The company’s presence at McCormick Place includes live demonstrations of its SafeSense technology, which utilizes sensors to detect human proximity and ensure secure collaboration. Alongside this new development, Epson will display its high-performance SCARA and 6-axis hardware, including the space-saving N-Series, which the manufacturer claims reduces required workspace area by up to 40% compared to traditional models.

Scott Marsic, group product manager at Epson Robots, emphasized the focus on reducing deployment complexity for manufacturers under pressure to automate. Beyond hardware, the showcase highlights the RC+ development software and the IntelliFlex Feeding System, a solution designed to lower entry costs for flexible automation to under $36,000. Experts will be on-site to assist in evaluating workflow needs and identifying specific system requirements for various industrial applications.

In addition to the exhibition floor, Epson representatives will lead three educational sessions. These talks cover topics ranging from the foundational principles of workcell design to the integration of robotics software in academic settings. Jim Shimano and Scott Marsic will present on how software-centric approaches can help both manufacturers and educational institutions mitigate risk and lower capital barriers.
