Shelly Brown, executive director of the Akron Children's Foundation, noted that the grant aligns with the hospital's long-standing promise to provide care regardless of a family's financial circumstances. For Liberty HealthShare, based in Canton, the initiative represents an expansion of its charitable mission beyond its core membership.
